IGP pins badges to newly promoted SSP

Islamabad: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Qazi Jameel-ur-Rehman on Thursday pinned the badges of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) rank to Ata-ur-Rehman.
A simple ceremony was held at Central Police Office here to pin the badges. It was attended by DG Safe City Muhammad Saleem, DIG Security Waqaruddin Syed, DIG Headquarters Kamran Adil, SSPs, AIGs and other police officers.
Speaking on the occasion, IGP congratulated the officer over his promotion in the next scale and hoped that he would continue with his dedication and devotion to serve the department. He regarded the newly promoted SSP as a professional, honest and professional police officer. He hoped for his good performance in future.

Police Media Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana stated that 25 Sri Lankans were arrested by the Indian Coast Guard (ICG) for transporting narocotics on two raids which were conducted near the island of Minicoy.
During the first raid which was carried out on 05 March, 06 Sri Lankan nationals were arrested when the ICG inspected a fishing vessel that set sail from Chilaw.
It was also revealed that more than 200 kilograms of heroin were dumped in the sea during the raid.
The second raid which took place on 15 March, had the The second raid was carried out by the Indian Coast Guard on March 15, when the attention of the ICG was drawn to three fishing vessels that had set sail from Tangalle of Sri Lanka.

A young couple has lodged a report with the police, claiming that the 19-year-old woman was gang raped by three men in the presence of her husband while they were on their way to meet relatives on Holi. The victim, in her complaint, alleged that she was dragged to a nearby jungle where she was gang raped. Her husband was beaten up by her attackers as he tried to fight them off. The couple was threatened and robbed before being allowed to go. The woman has said the men who gang raped her, also filmed the act. The two accused have been named in the complaint while the third accused has not been identified.
