New Delhi: A court in Varanasi has issued notices on a civil suit filed by devotees of Lord Shiva seeking removal of the Gyanwapi mosque built by Aurangzeb in 1669 adjacent to the Kashi Vishwanath temple by allegedly demolishing an ancient temple.
The notice has been sent to Centre, UP government, Varanasi DM, Senior Superintendent of Police, Varanasi, UP Muslim Personal Law Board, mosque management- Anjuman Intazamia, Board of trustees of Kashi Vishwanath Temple. The replies have been sought by April 9, the next date of hearing.

Police step up efforts to transform Islamabad into crime free capital: SSP
Islamabad, March 09, 2021 (PPI-OT): Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operations Dr Syed Mustafa Tanveer on Tuesday said the force has renewed efforts to transform Islamabad into a crime free capital. All resources would be utilized to secure the lives and properties of citizens, he said in a statement issued here. He said that, in last 24 hours, ICT Police arrested 12 criminals including two members of a snatcher’s gang and recovered snatched cash, kites, strings and weapons from their possession.

Ranchi (Jharkhand) [India], March 10 (ANI): Ranchi Police on Wednesday sought clarification from the ten police personnel who were deployed in the security of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav at Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) for allegedly not returning the articles provided by the hospital to them during his treatment.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Ranchi issued a letter and asked all the ten policemen to return quilts, mattress, and pillows at the earliest.
The quilts, mattresses and pillows, given to the policemen by a tent house when Lalu Yadav was shifted to Rames s Kelly bungalow in the premises of RIMS, are still not returned by the police personnel, the letter read in Hindi.
