Zambia : Government to upscale empowerment programmes next year

The government says all social protection programmes namely the Food Security Pack (FSP), Social Cash Transfer (SCT) and Girls’ Education and Women’s Empowerment and Livelihoods (GEWEL) will next year be up-scaled. Minister of Community Development and Social Services Kampamba Mulenga-Chewe says the government wants to increase the number of beneficiaries under the social protection empowerment programs. Mrs. Mulenga-Chewe says government recognizes the vulnerability of women and girls in the country. Speaking when she paid a courtesy call on Gwembe District Commissioner yesterday, the Minister said government is determined to improve the welfare and livelihoods of women in the country through ambitious empowerment programs.

EFCC releases names of 16 suspected internet fraudsters arrested in Lagos (Full list)

Daily Post Nigeria Published At least, 16 young men have been apprehended in Lekki area of Lagos State for allegedly involving in internet fraud, otherwise known as Yahoo-Yahoo. The Lagos Zonal Office of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), confirmed this in a statement on Monday. The EFCC identified the suspects as: Akinduro Henry, Habeeb Adebayo, Oxford Robbinson, Caleb Triumphant Ezikiel, Marcus Wisdom, Osarobo Osasere, Emmanuel Timileyin, and Oyelami Olatunji. Others are: Pelumi Glory, Ehibor Joseph, Adebayo Oluwatobi, Jefta Akpan, Okirhie Rukewe, Onyeka Odika, Uzoma Gideon and Isreal Ugochukwu. According to the statement on its verified Twitter handle, the EFCC disclosed that the suspects were rounded-up on January 21 at the Ziroc Residence Hotel, Lekki, Lagos by operatives who had been tracking their activities.
