Time-tabled ‘Kisan Rail’ parcel express trains will be operated from Vizianagaram, the nodal point for transportation of mangoes from this region, to Adarsh Nagar, New Delhi, by the Waltair Division of East Coast Railway (E Co R).
Train no. 00851 Vizianagaram-Adarsh Nagar(Delhi) Kisan Rail parcel special train will leave Vizianagaram, on every alternate day with effect from April 17 at 4 a.m. to reach Adarsh Nagar on the next day at 5.30 p.m.
In the return direction, 00852 Adarsh Nagar-Vizianagaram Kisan Rail Parcel Special Train will leave Adarsh Nagar on every alternate day with effect from April 19 at 2 a.m. to arrive in Vizianagaram at 12.30 p.m. on the next day.

The first mango special train of Waltair Division of East Coast Railway (E Co R) for this season commenced its journey from Vizianagaram, carrying 200 tonnes of mangoes in 11,600 boxes to New Adarsh Nagar railway station in New Delhi, on Wednesday.
The parcel special express trains are being operated from Vizianagaram, the nodal point for transport of mangoes from north Andhra Pradesh, to New Delhi. In the last financial year, Waltair Division had transported 4,350 tonnes of mangoes in 20 trains, according to Senior Divisional Commercial Manager A.K. Tripathi.

Step to avoid overcrowding on platforms
The entry and exit at Visakhapatnam Railway Station has been revised from Wednesday (April 14) in view of increasing number of COVID-19 cases. The objective of the move is to avoid overcrowding on railway platforms and to contain the spread of the pandemic.
All passengers going to board the trains have to report at Gnanapuram entry (platform no.8 side) at Gate no.4. And after thermal scanning, they were permitted into the station. Vehicles coming to drop passengers should enter through the arch at Gnanapuram-end and exit through the arch at Convent Junction-end.

The first Kisan Rail from Vijayawada left for New Delhi with 220 tonnes of mangoes, loaded at Nuzvid, said Vijayawada Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) P. Srinivas.
“The mango rake was loaded after a gap of six years from Vijayawada division. It is expected to fetch the SCR(South Central Railway) ₹9.9 lakh revenue. In total, about 40 rakes will be loaded during the summer, fetching the SCR ₹3.5 crore revenue,” Mr. Srinivas said. Nuzvid is famous for its varieties of mangoes, including Banginapalli, Chinna Rasalu, Pedda Rasalu, across the country.
