Minister of State for Finance, Budget and National Planning, Mr Clement Agba PHOTO: Twitter Representative of Etsako Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Johnson Oghuma, has declared that rural roads in Etsako East Council of Edo State for which Minister of State for Budget and National Planning, Clem Agba was claiming credit, were his projects. Oghuma listed the rural roads as those linking Iviukhua, Iviebua, Iviegbepui, Ivianokpodi and Ivoghe communities.He, however, noted that works are presently ongoing on the Ogbona-Ekperi road in Etsako Central and Okugbe-Imiekuri road in Etsako East through the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC). Others are the Aviele-Iyakpi rural access road, rehabilitation of Iviakpi-Aviele-Ekhie Girls road, popularly known as Campus Two road in Etsako West.

Vanguard News FG inaugurates councils of 5 universities On Minister of Education, Malam Adamu Adamu The Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, on Monday in Abuja inaugurated Governing Councils of five federal universities, urging them to respect federal character in the appointment of members of staff. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the universities include University of Ibadan, University of Lagos, University of Port Harcourt, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife and Nigerian Maritime University, Okerenkoko. Their council chairmen are John Oyegun- University of Ibadan, Sen. Lanre Tejuoso-University of Lagos, Sen. Andrew Uchendu-University of Port Harcourt, Oscar Udoji-Obafemi Awolowo University and Dr Elias Courson-Maritime University.

TETFund spends N300 million on molecular labs

TETFund’s Executive Secretary,Prof. Suleiman Bogoro, speaking Tuesday, in Abuja when he received participants of Executive Course 43,of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, NIPS, Kuru, Jos, said the approvals will be announced as soon the Board of Trustees gives its nod. He disclosed that qualified institutions will draw a maximum of N50 million research grants from the N7.5 billion National Research Fund, NRF. According to him,”Under the instruction of President Muhammadu Buhari, the fund provided research intervention between N250 to N300 million, to set up, at least, a quarter of the molecular labs established in the country.”
