Hopewell bicyclist struck by car, suffers serious injuries
A collision between a bicyclist and a motorist at the intersection of East Broad Street and Princeton Avenue in Hopewell Borough sent the bicyclist to the hospital May 13, according to the Hopewell Township Police Department.
The bicyclist was riding east on East Broad Street and was struck by a 2015 Kia Sedona that was traveling west on East Broad Street as the motorist attempted to make a left turn onto Princeton Avenue, police said.
The bicyclist sustained serious injuries in the incident, which was reported to police at 4:12 p.m. May 13. The bicyclist was taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton by the Hopewell Rescue Squad and Capital Health paramedics.

They had responded there following a call from Ahr’s son and were speaking with the son when the elder Ahr came to the door, Grewal said.

John Thomas Carson, 66, of Titusville passed away Wednesday May 5th at Capital Health Regional Medical Center. Born in Kew Gardens, NY, John had resided in Hopewell Township and Titusville for thirty years. John was a member of St. James RC Church in Pennington.
John is survived by his wife Cynthia Kaisand Carson, sons, John C. Carson, Andrew Carson, and Todd Carson, as well two sisters, Nora Palumbo and Ellen Holm. He was the son of the late John Henry and Anna Olwell Carson, and brother to the late Theresa Pellegrino and Anna Hulka.
John attended New York Institute of Technology for undergraduate studies. After graduating with a Masters of Science in Business from Adelphi, John worked in the syndication market of the entertainment industry for many large corporations such as Viacom, Metromedia, Paramount, and Twentieth Century Fox. He changed career paths in the 1980s to work in the lottery industry, both domestically and internationally

Under this LOI, St. Francis Medical Center will become a part of Capital Health. No hospital in New Jersey received a failing grade in the latest round of safety scoring released by The Leapfrog Group. But more than a dozen facilities fell short of an A or B grade.
In the spring 2021 report released Thursday, 26 of New Jersey s 68 acute-care hospitals (38%) received an A for their ability to protect patients from avoidable infections, injuries and errors. Another 38% received a B from Leapfrog, a nonprofit watchdog organization representing health care consumers and purchasers.
Ten hospitals improved upon their grade from fall 2020, and four hospitals moved down a grade.
Based on the percentage of A grade hospitals, New Jersey moved from 17th to 14th in the nation. Saint Barnabas Medical Center, located in Livingston, is one of just 27 hospitals in the country to have achieved straight A grades since Leapfrog began grading in 2012.
