ALBANY Police said they are investigating a killing in which an 18-year-old woman was shot Monday afternoon.
Police said they responded to Essex Street, just west of Rawson Street, at about 2:50 p.m. for a shooting. The woman was found lying in the street, and was taken to Albany Medical Center Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Police are not releasing the victim s name until they said family can be notified.

WATERVLIET Shots were fired early Saturday morning near the corner of Ninth Avenue and 19th Street, but there were no injuries reported or victims at the scene, police said.
Police said the shooting, which occurred at around 2:15 a.m., involved two people who know each other. Police did not find the suspects at the scene. Numerous shell casings were found on the street.

ALBANY Police are investigating a Monday evening shooting that injured a 47-year-old man.
Police said they received a call around 8:50 p.m. about a shooting near Hoffman and Second avenues. Police then found the victim in his vehicle on Southern Boulevard near Delaware Avenue with a gunshot wound to his back. Police believe the injury is not life-threatening.
