So far, almost 16 million doses of the vaccine have been administered throughout the state, and more than 9 million people have received at least one shot, according to Florida Department of Health data.
Of these, only 7% more than 658,000 identify as Black, state health department statistics show. Another 10.9%, more than a million, are in the department s other category, which includes Asian, Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander, and other groups, according to the department.
Throughout the state, 1,412,852 of those who have been vaccinated are between the ages of 16-34, according to state data.
COVID-19 in Leon County
A total of 31,286 Leon County residents have tested positive for COVID-19, an increase of 48 cases since Tuesday.
Confirmed deaths
The Florida Department of Health confirmed three more Leon County residents have died because of COVID-19. Total: 320.
Local hospitalizations
Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare reported 10 inpatients positive for the virus.
Capital Regional Medical Center reported 13 inpatients positive. To date, CRMC has treated 2,309 people for the virus.
Vaccinations
At least 90,716 Leon County residents have been fully vaccinated by either the single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine or two-shot Pfizer or Moderna vaccines.
Of those, 4,690 have received the J&J vaccine.
