The wording of a motion voted in to introduce paid parking in Mooloolaba s new multideck carpark is loose enough to leave it open to challenge says local councillor Joe Natoli. On December 10 councillors voted at the final ordinary meeting of the year to introduce paid parking into the new Brisbane Rd carpark and an at-grade carpark in the Maroochydore CBD. Cr Terry Landsberg, one of five to vote against the final motion, said all councillors were fully aware that to deliver the multideck carpark paid parking was required. The initial council officer s recommendation was to receive and note the report and then amend the register of cost-recovery fees to set the pricing for the new Brisbane Rd carpark and the Maroochydore CBD facility.
