CMPD: 2 Men Charged In A Series Of Break-Ins In Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. Charlotte Mecklenburg detectives say two men are under arrest for their involvement in two recent series of break-ins in Charlotte.
Detectives say Kenneth White, 56, was arrested on April 15th, and Bryon Robinson, 51, was arrested on April 22nd, after eleven break-ins occurred in the Charlotte area where several items were stolen.

White is charged with four counts of felony breaking and entering, and four counts of larceny after breaking and entering, according to a news release.
Police say Robinson is charged with seven counts of felony breaking and entering, and seven counts of larceny after breaking and entering.

Norma Gray, president of the Rock Hill NAACP, was at the gathering and said the jury s decision would not hold any weight if the country does not build on the momentum. However, she said she hopes it is a step toward trust. It s significant because at some point you have to be able to trust that there can be equality, Gray said. And sometimes that s a difficult message to convey when all you see is inequality.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. A Charlotte mother shared her concern about her 8-year-old son’s constant fear of law enforcement and wanted to do something about it. With the help of the staff at the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office, they worked to arrange a one-on-one meeting with the sheriff and the young boy.
Lathan Foger said when he sees the news, it sparks a feeling of fear and uncertainty toward police officers.
“When I saw George Floyd and how the officer killed him and Breonna Taylor died it just scared me because they’re Black and I’m Black,” Foger said.
