CMPD identified Treyvon Harris as a suspect in the Tyshawn Boyd homicide case, and a murder warrant was issued for his arrest. Police say Harris is currently in custody at the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office for unrelated charges, were he will be served with the outstanding murder warrant. The victim has been identified as 22-year-old Tyshawn Izayiah Rodney Levar Boyd.

(WBTV) - Police have charged a man with attempted murder after two people were stabbed with a machete on a CATS bus in southeast Charlotte Wednesday afternoon. The incident happened on a CATS bus on East 7th Street in the Elizabeth community around 3:32 p.m. Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police officers responded to the scene. Police say the weapon used was a machete and when officers arrived, they found two victims with stab wounds. Police say both victims were taken to the hospital after suffering non-life threatening stab wounds.

CMPD: 29-Year-Old Man Arrested, Charged In South Charlotte Homicide Case February 1, 2021 The Latest (2/1/21): Charlotte-Mecklenburg detectives have charged a 29-year-old man with murder in a south Charlotte homicide case that happened Friday afternoon after the victim died from apparent trauma. Police say they identified James Tyler Singleton as a suspect in the Divante Brown murder case following continued investigation. Arrest warrants were issued and on Monday he was taken into custody by CMPD’s Violent Criminal Apprehension Team. Following an interview by detectives, Singleton was transferred to the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office and charged with Murder and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, according to CMPD.
