MEDFORD, Ore. The Medford School District is laying the foundation for what its Summer Experience will look like with COVID-19. The district says it’s also a preview of what students may see in the fall.
MSD says masking requirements are changing, and won’t be required for students or faculty. We’ve also learned, Medford teachers and staff will not be required to be vaccinated.
“There is no vaccination requirement for faculty for stuff or for students,” said MSD Superintendent Bret Champion.
The Medford School District will not require teachers to be vaccinated against COVID-19.
Governor Brown lifted the majority of COVID-19 restrictions at the end of June. Since then, MSD has been crafting what its environment will look like come fall.

Multiple school districts return back to full in-person learning tomorrow
Tomorrow, multiple school districts across southern Oregon, including the Medford School District and the Butte Falls School District, will return back to full in-person learning.

MEDFORD, Ore.– Sending thousands of kids back to school in the middle of a pandemic, is no easy task.
Most of the rules, like social distancing, washing your hands, requiring masks and staying home when you’re sick, will cover the entire district.
But Medford School District ‘s Natalie Hurd, says a mandatory health screening will also required before entering district buildings.
Hurd said, “We are going to be screening kids upon entry and there are going to be some more tighter protocols with pickup and drop-off.”
Some elementary schools will relax tardiness rules.
Students are also being urged to bring their own water bottles to school.
