INFRASTRUCTURE conglomerate Metro Pacific Investments Corp. (MPIC) is in talks with the owners of Discovery World Corp. for a “potential investment.”
“There are ongoing discussions with the Tiu family for a potential investment in Discovery World Corp. and/or its subsidiaries,” MPIC said in a disclosure to the stock exchange on Monday.
“However, no definitive agreement has been signed to date. We will inform the Exchange and the investing public in the event any disclosable transaction is signed,” it added.
Without mentioning MPIC, Discovery World said in a separate disclosure: “As… the company is proceeding with the development of its various projects, it is open to investor groups who are supportive of such projects.”

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, March 11) The 7.2-kilometer link from Sta. Rosa-Tagaytay Interchange to Silang East Interchange of the Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX) is targeted to be operational by the third quarter of 2021 as it is now 83% complete, its operator MPCALA Holdings Inc. said.
If the right of way will be delivered by the government on time, Roberto V. Bontia, MPCALA president and general manager, said the company will double [its] construction efforts on Subsection 5 to avoid delays.
Subsection 5 covers the 7.2-kilometer link from Santa Rosa-Tagaytay Interchange to Silang East Interchange, the firm said in a statement.
Currently, MPCALA is doing bridge deck and pavement construction, drainage works, road furniture and sound barriers, and structures of Silang (Aguinaldo) Interchange.
