Snowstorm 2021: What’s closed on Monday?

Staten Island is guaranteed to see more than 12 inches of snow, the National Weather Service forecasts.

Monday’s forecast promises to not only blanket Staten Island under almost two feet of snow, it comes with heavy wind gusts and a strong potential for coastal flooding, said Bob Smerbeck, senior meteorologist with Accuweather.com on Sunday afternoon.
“Everything starts to ramp up tomorrow. The storm will be developing off the South Jersey Coast. We will be bombed by a nor’easter. . We will have wind-whip snow and maybe even a little sleet mixed in on Monday morning,” he said.

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. As New York City braces for what experts say could be a significant snowstorm, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) is issuing its own safety measures in regard to state-run bridges and public transportation.
Empty and tandem tractor trailers will be prohibited on the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge, beginning 6 a.m. Monday, state officials announced in a press release Sunday.
Metro-North Adjust Schedule Due to Winter Storm
The Hudson Valley is on track to get hit pretty hard by Winter Storm Orlena.
According to Hudson Valley Weather.Com, we re expected to get anywhere between 8 inches to 16 inches of snow with some areas of the Valley in the 20 inches zone.
Needless to say, travel is going to be a mess for the next few hours.
Metro-North took today s weather into consideration and announced updates for their trains and travel.
ABC7 NY reports that MTA service will end early today with the last train departing at 9:39 pm. Train services may be severely curtailed or suspended due to frozen rails, downed trees, and the amount of snow we re expecting.
