Metro North Restores Service To Wasaic, Adjusts Harlem Line Schedule Written by Metro North RR Effective today, Monday April 12, 2021, Metro-North will restore weekend/holiday service to Wassaic, and to Appalachian Trail, and will make additional schedule adjustments to the Harlem Line weekday schedule.  Replacement of track switches north of Hartsdale station will require a single-track operation between Scarsdale and North White Plains stations for approximately 4 months. To accommodate work, a total of five AM and PM roundtrip trains between Grand Central Terminal (GCT) and North White Plains will be truncated at Crestwood station and there will be minor schedule adjustments to 22 other trains

MTA Metro-North Railroad passengers can now communicate with the railroad in real time via the popular social media messaging platform WhatsApp. Like sister agency New York City Transit, which adopted WhatsApp in 2020, Metro-North customer service representatives can receive WhatsApp messages from passengers via between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m. daily and be able to reply in real time. The railroad said it receives about 50,000 messages per year through social media channels.  WhatsApp “complements real-time information and train updates on arrival and departure boards throughout the system, including potential delays and track changes,” Metro-North noted. Crews worked overnight to clear snow, spread salt, clear switches, and remove fallen trees, snow and ice throughout our service territory.
