MENOMINEE Two suspects have been taken into custody following a shooting in Menominee on Monday. The Menominee City Police Department reported that at around 12:10 a.m. Monday, officers were dispatched to a residence located in the 1300 block of 30th Avenue for a complaint of shots fired. Upon arriving at the residence, it was determined that the resident of the address was shot during an alleged illegal narcotics transaction. After the shooting, two suspects fled the scene on foot and later in a vehicle. An investigation started immediately, and the two suspects were later taken into custody in Oconto, Wisconsin. The victim was taken to Aurora Medical Center Bay Area in Marinette, Wisconsin, where he was treated for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

LAKE TOWNSHIP, Wis. The body of a missing Stephenson man was found Thursday at Shakey Lakes Park. First responders were dispatched at 7:47 p.m. after Lon Joseph Harrand, 67, was reported missing while ice fishing on Shakey Lakes, according to an Menominee County Sheriff’s Office press release. Officials say Harrand fell through the ice and drowned. His body was recovered by ice rescuers. Harrand had reportedly stopped by the campground earlier in the day and saw other ice fishermen at the location. He went home to get his ice fishing gear and returned back to the lake to the fish, the release states. After he did not return calls to his cell phone, family and friends saw boot prints going out onto the ice at the scene, but no tracks indicating Harrand had walked off the ice.
