MENOMINEE COUNTY, Mich (WBUP) It has been more than four weeks since the Menominee County Sheriff’s Office urged the public to be on the lookout for a missing hunter.
In 15 minutes, what started as a fun weekend of deer hunting, turned into a desperate search for Vladimir Ivanovic.
Recently, scent dogs and kayakers continued the search for the 58-year-old carpenter and father near the campground where he was last seen.
After setting up deer camp with two members of his family, Vladimir Ivanovic from Chicago headed towards the pay station and outhouses at the Cedar River North State Forest Campground.

ESCANABA At about 11:20 p.m. Thursday, a deputy with the Delta County Sheriff’s Office was in Meijer when an employee reported that shoplifting, known legally as “retail fraud,” had just occurred. The deputy went to the parking lot and located the suspect in a vehicle leaving the area.
The deputy attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but the vehicle fled, leading to a pursuit. Eventually, the vehicle pulled over on 14th Road near M-69, where the driver fled on foot.
The driver, a male who was not immediately identified, was from the Wilson area and was located in the woods about two hours later and taken into custody.

Thursday around 11:20 p.m. a deputy was in the Escanaba Meijer when an employee said a retail fraud had just occurred. The deputy went to the parking lot and saw the suspect vehicle leaving the area. The officer tried to stop the vehicle, but the driver took off.
Police pursued the vehicle until 14th Road near M-69, when the driver pulled over and fled on foot. The suspect was found in the woods about two hours later and taken into custody. He was lodged in the Delta County Jail on multiple charges.
