MERIDEN â The arrest warrant for a man charged in a February 2020 shooting states the motive appears to be gang related.Â
Daniel Oslander, 33, of 104 Rockwell Ave., 2nd, Fl., New Britain, was arrested last week and charged with first-degree assault and criminal possession of a firearm.Â
Police believe Oslander shot a man in the leg on Sherman Avenue last winter possibly in response to the killing of Francisco Huertas, who was fatally shot outside a home on Allen Avenue in August 2019, the warrant said. The man shot on Sherman Avenue was taken to Hartford Hospital and survived.

MERIDEN â A man faces charges after police said he was found in a bathroom at a local hotel with a firearm. Â
Adrian Ayala-Garo, 28, no address listed, was charged Monday with possession of a large capacity magazine, criminal possession of a firearm, and simple trespass.Â
Police initially responded to a reported domestic incident around 11:30 p.m. on Sunday. Ayala-Garo was reported to be at a womanâs home, but left before police arrived in a car that matched a description of a vehicle involved in a Wolcott robbery, Sgt. Darrin McKay said. Â
