Melbournians asked to make bookings for CBD entry on New Years Eve30/12/2020|9min
Melbourne Lord Mayor Sally Capp has detailed the city s restrictions for New Years Eve, disclosing the state had decided against holding a firework display in order to continue supporting small businesses in the CDB.
“There will be streets and precincts closed across the municipality where people can book into restaurants, where they will be entertained, where they can feel that sense of comradery and enjoy time with family and friends as we lead into New Years,” Ms Capp said.
Street feasts will be open for New Year’s Eve, and on New Year’s Day, for brunch and dinner also.
A shopper in Melbourne was taken aback by a talented busker, not realising the singer was actually Missy Higgins.
A video, later uploaded to Reddit, showed the 37-year-old performing her song Ten Days outside a cafe on Degraves Street in the CBD on Saturday. Was very baffled by how, what looked like a busker, had gotten permission to do such a set up there, and then continued to think about what a great cover this gal was doing, until it hit me and I had to sit down, the man captioned the video.
