Melbourne welcomes back exhibitions
Melbourne Convention Exhibition Centre (MCEC) is set to see a return to in-person exhibitions for the first time since Covid-19 restrictions came into effect last year, with The Gift & Lifestyle Fair scheduled 20-22 March.
MCEC is already able to host events at up to 75% capacity per event space, to a maximum of 5,000 attendees, following the implementation of stringent health and safety measures.
From 20 March, capacity will increase to 10,000 patrons per event space per day, at a maximum of 75% capacity.
For events over 5,000 attendees, a regime of time-based sessions will apply. This means exhibitions can operate two daily sessions at a maximum of 5,000 per session subject to latest density limits (currently one person per two square metres).
PAX Australia Returns In 2021 With COVID-19 Cases On The Decline
Melbourne, the host city of PAX Aus, recorded zero new cases on Wednesday.
After cancelling 2020 s show due to the pandemic, PAX Australia is back on for 2021. The organizers have announced that the event will take place at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Center this October 8-10.
Due to the pandemic, this won t be the same PAX as you may remember it. The organizers said they are taking all necessary precautions for public health, and this will include following national and local health guidelines that are in place in October.
While that information is still up in the air, PAX Aus will only sell a limited number of tickets to the show due to the current capacity restrictions in place at the site. However, the organizers said they are hopeful that conditions continue to improve in Melbourne and that they can sell more tickets before the show.
