The first coronavirus positive patient has been evacuated from a Melbourne quarantine hotel after a sprinkler system caused extensive water damage.
They left the Holiday Inn hot hotel on Flinders Lane just before 10am and came out of the hotel with what appeared to be a rubbish bag over their head.
Mr Andrews said Victoria was well placed to emerge from its stage four âcircuit-breakerâ lockdown just before midnight on Wednesday, although a final decision has not yet been made. âIâm not in a position to definitively commit to that,â he said. âBecause these next 24 hours will, of course, will be crucial.â
Thirty one guests at the Holiday Inn in Flinders Lane â one of two âhotâ hotels which house returned travellers with confirmed cases of coronavirus â were being relocated on Tuesday after a water leak damaged four floors of the building.

Some were seen wearing garbage bags over their heads to protect their privacy as they were escorted onto a bus before being taken to the Pullman Hotel in Albert Park.

Victoria s five-day coronavirus lockdown is expected to end at midnight on Wednesday - but at least some restrictions will remain, experts have warned.
Senior government ministers met on Tuesday night to discuss the lifting of restrictions, which were sparked by an outbreak of the UK strain at Melbourne Airport s Holiday Inn where returned travellers were being quarantined.
Another meeting is due on Wednesday morning, when Premier Daniel Andrews and his ministers will consider any new locally-acquired cases before authorising plans to release the state from lockdown.
Victoria recorded no new locally-acquired or hotel quarantine cases on Wednesday.
