However, on Dec. 8, the office discovered a sealed official ballot drop box that contained voted vote-by-mail ballots that were deposited prior to the Nov. 3 deadline at 8 p.m. The drop box in question was located outside of the Bell Memorial Union at Chico State, and was not included in the certified results published on Nov. 30, according to County Clerk-Recorder, Candace Grubbs.

This morning some regional counties are now officially under a mandatory stay-at-home order. The counties impacted: Butte, Colusa, Plumas, Yuba and Sutter, and the rest of the greater Sacramento region. What does that mean? Indoor dining, indoor recreational facilities – such as gyms, hair salons and barbershops, and movie theatres all must close. The Butte County Elections Clerk, Candance Grubbs, says workers found a sealed box of 500 uncounted ballots outside of Chico State s Bell Memorial Union. All the ballots had been deposited before the Nov. 3 deadline. Grubbs expects the only contest that could possibly be impacted is Chico Measure E – a charter amendment.
