Liverpool banner for Blackpool boy killed by lightning to be donated

Peter Carney, who has made hundreds of Liverpool banners, said he was moved to create one for Jordan Banks after hearing about his death in Blackpool. He said he made it to offer support and comfort to the nine-year-old s family and friends. The keen Liverpool fan died shortly after being struck by a lightning as he took part in a coaching session on playing fields at Common Edge Road in Blackpool on 11 May.

The mother of nine-year-old Jordan Banks who died after being struck by lightning has paid an emotional tribute to her selfless and fun-loving son who was beyond loved . Danielle Begg, 38, described how everyday is a struggle as she and her family continued to come to terms with the death of her irreplaceable son after he was killed while playing football in Blackpool.  The schoolboy died on May 11 after being struck by lightning on Common Edge playing fields in South Shore, Blackpool, on School Road at 5.05pm after a storm suddenly hit without warning.   In a moving tribute, Ms Begg said she and her family were doing all they could do keep going for Jordan and carry on his legacy .

Jordan Banks, 9, was taking part in a one-on-one training session in a field in Blackpool when the horror unfolded on Tuesday. 9 An inquest was today opened and adjourned into his tragic death. The hearing was told Jordan was hit by lightning during a thunderstorm at 5pm. He was declared dead in hospital an hour later. Blackpool Coroner s Court was told a post-mortem was not carried out as a paediatrician gave his cause of death as being struck by lightning.
