MANSFIELD, Ohio (WOIO) - Mansfield Police are investigating the crash that killed a 19-year-old woman after she drove into the path of a dump truck at 12:10 p.m. on Tuesday
Chief Keith Porch said a 19-year-old woman was heading west on Piper Road in a 2020 Jeep Wrangler when she drove into the path of a dump truck going north on N. Main Street.
The 2006 Sterling commercial dump truck driven by a 59-year-old man struck the driverâs side of the Jeep, according to Chief Porch.

Subject: Fatal Crash -State Route 13 and Piper Road
The Mansfield Division of Police is investigating a fatal crash which occurred earlier this afternoon at 12:10PM at the intersection of State Route 13 (N. Main Street) and Piper Road. The crash involved a 2020 Jeep Wrangler which was traveling westbound on Piper Road and a 2006 Sterling commercial dump truck which was traveling northbound on State Route 13. Preliminary investigation indicates the Jeep traveled into the path of the dump truck which then struck the driver’s side of the Jeep. The driver of the Jeep, a 19-year-old female, was transported to a local hospital by the Mansfield Fire Department where she succumbed to her injuries. The driver of the dump truck, a 59-year-old male, suffered minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
