Operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) killed a former barangay captain in Maguindanao who was tagged to have formed a group that distribute illegal drugs in the province and nearby areas during a raid in Datu Salibo town on Wednesday morning, April 14.

CIDG director Maj. Gen. Albert Ignatius Ferro said the operation also resulted in the confiscation of high-powered firearms and ammunition.
He identified the slain suspect as Marcos Manunggal, former barangay captain of Barangay Tee in Datu Salibo town. He died on the spot.
His two companions who engaged CIDG operatives in a firefight, Datumanot Manunggal and Jaybee Mastura, were able to escape.
