Troops of Operation Tura Takaibango have eliminated five Boko Haram/Islamic States West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists in their attempt to overrun Abbagajiri and Dusula towns in Damboa Local Government Area of Borno.
Brig.-Gen. Benard Onyeuko, Acting Director, Defence Media Operations, in a statement on Friday, said the troops had sustained an onslaught against the terrorists in the North-East.
Onyeuko said the troops of the 402 Special Forces Task Force Brigade had on Wednesday, identified and encircled some terrorists’ enclaves at Abbagajiri and inflicted heavy casualty on them.
According to him, in the aftermath of the decisive encounter, five Boko Haram terrorists were neutralised while few others are believed to have escaped with gunshot wounds.

The Defence Headquarters (DHQ), on Friday, said that the troops of Operation Tura Takaibango have killed five members of the dreaded Boko Haram terrorists while several of them escaped with various degrees of gunshot wounds during a fierce encounter at Abbagajiri in Damboa Local Government Area of Borno State.

“The Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr Isa Pantami in his bid to ensure seamless enrolment of all diplomats in the country for the purpose of the ongoing NIN-SIM linkage and other needs, has directed the setting up of an enrolment centre at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abuja,” the statement added.
It said the “enrolment of the diplomats started on Monday 18th January 2021. ”
The Commission further assured members of the general public that “all hands are on deck to ensure the enrolment of all Nigerians and legal residents into the National Identity Database.

Troops of Operation Lafiya Dole has killed five Boko Haram terrorists and injured others at Abbagajiri and Dusula towns in Damboa Local Government Area of Borno State.
In a statement issued on Friday, the acting Director of Defence Media Operations, Brigadier General Benard Onyeuko, said the latest encounter with the terrorists occurred on Wednesday at Abbagajiri.
“The troops of 402 Special Forces Task Force Brigade led by the Commander engaged them with superior firepower resulting in high casualty on the terrorists,” the statement partly read.
“In the aftermath of the decisive encounter, five Boko Haram terrorists were neutralized while few others are believed to have escaped with gunshot wounds.”
