Eight Candidates Named in the Final Phase of UAA Chancellor Search
The UAA Chancellor Search Committee has recommended eight candidates to meet with the UAA and Anchorage community in the final phase of its search for the next UAA Chancellor.
The eight leaders were chosen from a pool of diverse and highly qualified candidates and include three Alaskans and five university leaders from outside of Alaska.
The eight candidates are:
Deena Bishop, Ed.D., Superintendent of the Anchorage School District [2016-Present], former Superintendent of the Mat-Su School District [2011-2016]
Pearl Brower, Ph.D., former President, Iḷisaġvik College [2012-2020], Dean of Students and Institutional Development, Iḷisaġvik College [2007-2012]

Duncan, the concrete “Moore-ish Terrier” statue that is the focus of the annual Ice Out Contest, pictured in late February, took his plunge into Moore’s Pond in Warwick on March 20, at 1:42 p.m. Warwick resident Barbie Zucchi had the closest guess as to when the statue would fall through the ice. School Committee to reconvene on FY22 budget
NORTHFIELD Because the proposed fiscal year 2022 budget for the Pioneer Valley Regional School District did not pass on March 23, the School Committee will reconvene to discuss the budget and potentially vote on a new one on Thursday, April 8, at 7 p.m.
