WESTTOWN TOWNSHIP, Pa. - Two people have been jailed after an attempted traffic stop involving a suspected stolen vehicle grew into a large police chase that spanned several miles and required multiple agencies to contain.
Officers from the West Goshen Township Police Department were patrolling the area of Route 202 around 2 p.m. Wednesday when they spotted a stolen vehicle. When the officers tried to pull over the car, police say the driver took off and a pursuit ensued.
Officers chased the fleeing vehicle north on Route 202 until the exit for Route 252, when police say the driver turned around and continued south on 202. The vehicle briefly left the roadway near West Pleasantville Grove Road and Wilmington Pike at which time a state police trooper fired a shot at the car.

WESTTOWN TOWNSHIPâA multi-jurisdictional, high-speed police pursuit in which a state trooper fired one round from his service revolver into a car ended after a successful PIT maneuver, ending in the capture of two people who had outstanding warrants.
The incident began on Dec. 23 at 2 p.m. when a West Goshen Township police officer, on routine patrol, located a stolen vehicle at West Pleasant Grove Road and Wilmington Pike in Westtown Township.
The officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop in the area of mile marker 13 of U.S. 202 northbound. The vehicle stopped briefly and then fled, according to police.

WEST GOSHEN TWP., Pa. - While a lot of us are waiting on packages right now, some people may have never received their package if it weren t for a couple of police officers from West Goshen. They stepped up and played Santa s little helpers.
A festive tweet by the West Goshen Township Police Department s Twitter page is spreading holiday cheer. Friday afternoon we received a report from a Good Samaritan that there were packages found in the snow area of an industrial park. The officers went out found the packages, gathered the packages, brought them back started going through all the address labels, and doing the leg work to find all the rightful owners, Lt. Justin Dimedio said.
