Oak Hills High School assistant principal pleads not guilty to continuous sexual abuse of a child

The Oak Hills High School assistant principal arrested last week on suspicion of sexually abusing an underage girl pleaded not guilty Thursday afternoon, a day after his originally scheduled arraignment.
The San Bernardino County District Attorney’s office charged Matthew Lin Johnson on Tuesday with one count of continuous sexual abuse of a child.
The DA s office filed the charge under the name Matt Johnson.
Court records showed that Johnson, 42, of Apple Valley, appeared before a judge Wednesday by video, but the arraignment was not held as his request to scratch was granted to allow retained counsel to appear, court records show.
Two Joshua Tree men were arrested, after they were found with an explosive device. About 4 a.m. Monday (February 15), deputies contacted David Smith, 38, near El Reposo and Chollita Avenue in Joshua Tree, where they found that he had a pipe bomb. Deputies contacted the Sheriff’s Arson and Bomb unit, which determined the pipe bomb was explosive; the bomb squad then detonated it in a safe area. David Smith was arrested Monday morning for investigation of being in possession of an explosive device, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $25,000.
During a follow-up investigation, deputies learned that Smith had obtained the pipe bomb from Randall Piearcy, 35. A search warrant was served about 8 p.m. Wednesday (February 17) at Piearcy’s home in the 61500 block of Woodward Drive in Joshua Tree. Victorville pair arrested after robbery at Super Walmart in Hesperia

Authorities on Wednesday reported that Marquis Denham and Maice Mitchell, both 20-year-old Victorville residents, were arrested on suspicion of robbing the Super Walmart in Hesperia.
The Hesperia Sheriff’s Station said that at approximately 10:34 p.m. Saturday, deputies responded to the report of a robbery at the Walmart located at 13401 Main Street.
According to sheriff s officials, deputies discovered that a man and woman, later identified as Denham and Mitchell, entered the location and purchased items at the self-checkout while allegedly not paying for other merchandise they collected while in the store.
