At the event held to mark the 125th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose in Kolkata on January 23, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata did not deliver her speech in protest after Jai Shri Ram slogans were raised when she was invited to speak. Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Sunday exuded confidence that the Maa, Mati, Manush s Trinamool Congress (TMC) will come back to power in the state, alleging that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is nothing but a gas balloon.
The TMC supremo also lashed out at the BJP-led Central government’s Union Budget 2021, saying it is ‘anti-farmer’ and ‘anti-people’. She claimed that there is nothing in the Budget for the unorganised sector. They always make false statements. India s first paperless budget sold almost every sector. There is nothing for the unorganised sector in the Budget, news agency ANI quoted Banerjee as saying.

Kolkata, Jan 29 : Rebel Trinamool Congress leader Rajib Banerjee on Friday resigned from the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) and tendered his resignation letter to party supremo and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
Earlier in the day, Rajib Banerjee had also resigned from the West Bengal legislative Assembly. On January 22, he had stepped down as state forest minister.
Rajib Banerjee was an MLA from the Domjur Assembly constituency in Howrah district. On Friday, he met Speaker Biman Banerjee in the Assembly and tendered his resignation.

Mamata Banerjee has refused to speak at the event being organised at the Victoria Memorial. She was angered after a section of the crowd started making noise as she was called on the stage to address the gathering.
