The West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) has begun to look for a delivery partner in its plans to build mobility-as-a-service (MaaS) for the region.
It has published a market notice for a MaaS application project, saying it wants to sharply improve the customer experience in planning, booking and paying for sustainable modes of transport through a single interface.
It also wants to enable Transport for West Midlands (TfWM) and transport operators to capture more information on how people are travelling.
“This supports TfWM and transport operators’ strategic objectives to increase the use of public transport, active travel and new forms of mobility, thereby ensuring a viable transport network and supporting the #WM2041 initiative (for the region to become carbon neutral by 2041),” the notice says.
