Stoke City fan Danny McCoy died after taking cocaine.
The emergency services were called to his partner s address on St Bernard s Road, in Knutton, after she discovered Danny trembling in bed.
Partner Charmaine Gardner initially called her neighbour who is a staff nurse at the Royal Stoke University Hospital, and she helped perform CPR.
But despite the best efforts of the nurse and paramedics the 37-year-old died at the scene on August 9.
The inquest heard Danny and Charmaine had been out for a curry at Sangam, in Stoke, on the evening of August 8 with friends. Danny then went to The Liquor Vaults, in Stoke, with his friends while Charmaine returned home with their children.
