COVID Assessment team in Haldimand recognized

Norfolk County, ON, Canada / NorfolkToday.ca Mar 9, 2021 7:30 AM The COVID Assessment Clinic staff at the West Haldimand General Hospital were recently recognized for their exceptional care to the community. The team received the Quality: Everyday Champion Award, which celebrates someone, or a team, that shows passion and commitment for improving quality of care. President and CEO, Lucy Bonanno, presented the team with the award at a small ceremony held at WHGH in late February. Clinical Director of the COVID Assessment Clinic, AnneMarie VanSickle, credits her dedicated and caring team for their efforts in helping the community through a difficult and challenging time.

NGH Chief Of Staff Apologizes For Travelling Outside Of The Country

Norfolk General Hospital’s Chief Of Staff travelled out of the country at the end of November. NGH’s CEO Lucy Bonanno confirmed that Dr. Mohammad Amir Sheik-Yousouf travelled to an undisclosed location at the end of November and returned at the beginning of December, taking 14-days after the fact to self-isolate. The hospital has reviewed the situation and has decided that Dr. Mohammad Amir Sheik-Yousouf will remain on as Chief of Staff. In the release, it further goes on to state that Dr. M. Amir Sheik-Yousouf  is a prominent physician that is serving Haldimand-Norfolk and that he has taken care of their most critical patients who have required urgent care since the start of the pandemic.

Two hospital directors recognized

Article content Two directors at Norfolk General Hospital in Simcoe and West Haldimand General Hospital in Hagersville have been recognized for their dedication to health care. Kang-Wei (David) Liu, director of pharmacy at the hospitals, has received the Hospital Practice in a Rural Setting Award from the Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists. And Jennifer Edwards, director of infection prevention and control at the hospitals, was recognized by Infection Prevent and Control Canada as a Frontline Hero for her work during the pandemic.
