LOS ANGELES (CNS) - Los Angeles County has officially qualified for a move to the least-restrictive yellow tier of the state economic-reopening blueprint, meaning capacity limits will be increased at many businesses and bars will be permitted to reopen indoors.
Weekly statistics released by the state Tuesday showed the county s rate of daily new COVID-19 infections had fallen to 1.6 per 100,000 residents, down from 1.9 last week. Reaching the yellow tier of the state s Blueprint for a Safer Economy requires a county to have a new-case rate less than 2 per 100,000 residents, and maintain that level for two consecutive weeks.

LOS ANGELES, CA Once the epicenter of the nation s coronavirus outbreak, Los Angeles is now the first Southern California County to qualify for the state s least restrictive tier for reopenings thanks to plummeting COVID-19 rates. An experienced investigator may soon be added to the staff of the Webster County Attorney’s Office.
The investigator would assist the Fort Dodge Police Department, Webster County Sheriff’s Office, the Dayton Police Department and the Gowrie Police Department.
County Attorney Darren Driscoll said the individual would assist ”anyone who comes into a major crime situation and needs an experienced investigator.”
He told the county Board of Supervisors Tuesday that the new position has been discussed for about two years. Fort Dodge Police Chief Roger Porter and, recently, new Sheriff Luke Fleener have been part of those discussions, he said.
Los Angeles County's average daily rate of new COVID-19 cases fell again today, but still remained too high to allow a move to the least-restrictive yellow tier of the state's economic reopening blueprint.
