HSE to open new vaccination centre in Limerick

LIMERICK’s Covid-19 vaccination centre is to move to a new location.
It will now be located in the Limerick Racecourse.
Confirming the news in a statement, the HSE said the move to Limerick Racecourse will allow an increase in booth capacity of potentially up to 44 vaccination booths in comparison to the 32 booths currently available at the Radisson Blu Hotel.
It is expected that the new centre at Limerick Racecourse will open in mid-June and that the two centres will operate simultaneously initially, to ensure a seamless transition of the service.

The green light has been given for a new Technological University in the Mid-West and Midlands.
Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science Simon Harris has designated Athlone Institute of Technology and Limerick Institute of Technology Ireland’s next technological university. LIT’s Ennis campus on Bindon Street will fall under the remit of the new institution.
Announcing the designation of the new TU on Wednesday Minister Harris TD said, “This is another hugely important day for higher education in Ireland and in particular for the Midlands and Mid-West regions.

THE Irish brothers behind billion-dollar company Stripe, has slammed Forbes magazine for saying they escaped stab city for Silicon Valley.
John Collison described the article as daft while his brother Patrick said it was mistaken in the idea that they had to overcome Limerick.

The article said the pair had escaped Limerick, which was described as stab city , prompting backlash online and from the brothers.
