UPDATE: The fire was 100 percent contained to 300.5 acres at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday. All fire resources have cleared the scene.
MORENO VALLEY, CA A brush fire burning near Moreno Valley Tuesday afternoon has charred 300 acres and was 5 percent contained.
The blaze reported at 1:22 p.m. at the Davis Road and Theodore Street intersection, southeast of the city, forced the closure of Gilman Springs Road although the roadway has since reopened, according to the California Highway Patrol.
