In the context of the validation of China-Mauritius Free Trade Agreement in 2021, CMFTA has remarked the first free trade agreement between China and Africa countries. The Economic Development Board held a workshop namely Shaping Future Economic Perspectives, whereby Huawei instigated the idea of encouraging “digitization” of businesses in Mauritius in order to fulfill its role as a an emerging digital leader in Africa.
The workshop was attended by representatives from various renowned businesses in Mauritius as well as Dr. The Hon. Renganaden Padayachy, Minister of Finance, Economic Planning and Development, Hon. Soomilduth Bholah, Minister of Industrial Development, SMEs, and Cooperatives, Hon. Alan Ganoo, Minister of Foreigne Affaires, His Excellency Mr. Sun Gongyi, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China in the Republic of Mauritius, and Mr. Hu Ming, Economic Counsellor of Chinese Embassy.
A statement by The Top Employer Institute said the company received the annual ‘Top Employers Certification Award’ for the second year in a row, in recognition of its exceptional employee practices in Nigeria.
“Huawei sub-Saharan Africa achieved Continental HQ Certification for 2021, after being certified a top employer in four or more countries, which include Nigeria, South Africa, Zambia and Kenya.
