A five-member selection committee has been formed to fill up the posts of two commissioners of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
The ACC chairman and commissioner s posts will be vacant soon.
The selection committee members are Justice Hasan Foez Siddique, judge of Appellate Division of the Supreme Court; Justice M Enayetur Rahim, judge of High Court Division; Mohammad Muslim Chowdhury, controller and auditor general of Bangladesh; Sohorab Hossain, chairman of Bangladesh Public Service Commission and Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan, former cabinet secretary.
If the former cabinet secretary fails to carry out the task, current cabinet secretary will do the job, reads a gazette notification issued today.

The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court today cleared the way for independent mayoral candidate KM Masud to contest Nalchhiti municipality election in Jhalakathi to be held on January 30.
The apex court upheld a High Court order that ordered the Election Commission to allow Masud to contest the election.
An Appellate Division bench headed by Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain passed the order after hearing a petition filed by KM Masud seeking cancellation of its chamber judge s order that stayed the HC order.

The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court today cancelled a High Court order that granted bail to Shaila Sharmin Preoty, wife of suspected militant Nurul Islam Marzan one of the masterminds of Holey Artisan Cafe Attack, in a case filed under the Anti-Terrorism Act for militant and terrorist activities.
The apex court, however, asked the trial court concerned to consider bail for Preoty if the trial proceedings of the case against her are not finished in next one year.
A four-member bench of the Appellate Division headed by Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain came up with the order following a petition filed by the state, challenging the HC order that granted bail to Preoty.
