NORTH HAMPTON – Help is coming to fix the dangerous intersection of routes 151 and 111, known locally as Post and Exeter roads. Beginning in mid to late June, the New Hampshire Department of Transportation will rebuild the problematic, busy crossroads that take motorists in and out of North Hampton, as well as Exeter and other Seacoast communities. The outdated layout is considered partly responsible for 58 accidents in the past 11 years, including the one on Sept. 22, 2020, that took the life of Hampton motorcyclist, 56-year-old Richard Moore. The intersection was a cause of concern for more than a decade for North Hampton and state transportation authorities. Following Moore’s accident, local authorities reached out to DOT. At video conference meetings over the past seven months, residents and officials implored state highway experts to develop improvements to the intersection.
