Posted on the Mid-Engine Corvette Forum, the dark-finish logo features a two-part Z, unlike the Z of the Z-Mode button on the steering wheel of the Stingray. There is some faint writing on the top of the zero, but on closer look, the writing is the original poster’s Instagram account (@allcarnews).
A member of the forum also picked up a couple of pictures from the Colorado Car Spotters Facebook group, depicting three prototypes of the Z06 fully clad in camouflage. These mules all feature a center-tipped exhaust system and camouflage even on their wheels, even though it’s been confirmed what kind of tires General Motors will offer. The Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R compound is likely included in the Z07 Ultimate Performance Package, along with some kind of aero makeover. Up to three rear wings may be offered in total.

Instead of the center-outlet exhaust system of previous test mules, GM is currently testing the Z06 with a Stingray-inspired exhaust system at the North-South Straightaway in Milford. The dramatic-looking prototype in the photo gallery is also rocking a humongous wing that looks a little bit like the Rebel Alliance T-65B X-wing starfighter from the Star Wars saga. 7 photos
Apparently inspired by the rear wing of the seventh-generation Corvette ZR1, which GM describes as a supercar in the automaker’s literature, this wing could be the mid-range option bundled with the Z07 Performance Package. The entry-level option is believed to come in the guise of a low-profile wing, and at the top of the spectrum, there is talk about active aero.

Based on the 812 Superfast and GTS respectively, the Competizione coupe and Competizione A convertible follow the 599 GTO and F12 TDF as the latest in a line of track-focused, front-engined V12 Ferrari models – and likely its last, given the onset of emissions regulations threatening the future of naturally-aspirated, non-hybrid V12 engines.
Powering the duo is a reworked version of the regular 812’s
6.5-litre naturally-aspirated V12, now developing
610kW and
692Nm – up 22kW, but down 26Nm over their donor cars. It’s sent to the rear wheels through a quicker-shifting seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
