Tuesday 15 December 2020, 02:24 PM (AEDT) A survey created by and for young Australians has found that the content of this year’s news stories has overwhelmingly made young people feel worse than they did last year. The survey was promoted by ABC Education and the Museum of Australian Democracy (MoAD) as part of Media Literacy Week 2020, and it invited young Australians aged 10–17 to answer a series of questions about their news practices and experiences. The survey was developed by 21 school students who attended the News Champions Forum as part of Media Literacy Week in 2019. There were 560 responses to the survey during September to October 2020, with many school students completing it as part of a broader classroom activity.
