In partnership with the Maine Office of Community Development, the National Digital Equity Center will be able to offer free tablets with internet access to eligible Maine residents.
The National Digital Equity Center will be able to offer free tablets to eligible Maine residents because of support from the Maine Office of Community Development, a program of the Maine Department of Economic & Community Development, based in Augusta. These tablets will allow users to connect to the internet and other resources, helping to close the digital divide experienced by many Mainers across the state, according to a news release from the center, based in Machias.
