POLICE are working with a number of garages across Cumbria to mark catalytic converters with a substance known as smart water. The substance is a water-based, inorganic traceable liquid that contains a unique forensic signature that will withstand fire, humidity and sunlight. Only a tiny speck is required to link a criminal back to the scene of crime. There are a limited number of kits available, so it is on a first come, first served basis. Garages offering the service include Courtfield Garage, Sammy Lees and Eden Garage in Appleby, Ballantynes Garage in Langwathby, Central Garage and Arthur Brown in Shap, Jonestones Garage and Mark John Motors in Kirkby Stephen, and Moredun Garage, JH Henderson and Sons ltd, and Eden Valley Autos in Alston.
INTERSECTION PROJECT COMPLETED EARLY AT CENTRAL GARAGE IN KING WILLIAM COUNTY
FREDERICKSBURG, Va.
– A project to improve the Route 30 and Route 360 intersection in the Central Garage area of King William County was completed this week, finishing around two months ahead of schedule.
The $1.4 million project, funded through the state SMART SCALE funding program, expanded turn lane capacity at the intersection to enhance safety and reduce delays.
Sidewalk was built along the south side of Route 30 to help pedestrians and bicyclists travel through the intersection, assisted by new pedestrian crossings, a pedestrian refuge area, and pedestrian crossing signal equipment.
Travelers can now use dedicated right and left turn lanes on eastbound Route 30 as they approach Route 360, along with a through travel lane.

Damian Jones, Head of Sales for H&H says: The value is not huge but the content of this garage is a motor racing treasure trove an AC Aceca Bristol and two Lotus Eleven racing cars. All three are sold as garage finds in varying states of completion. Given the regard in which Terry was held by those who knew him I have no doubt there are many who will want a part of his automotive legacy.
