Central Valley Middle School redesignated as a School to Watch
Central Valley Middle School is being recognized as one of six Don Eichhorn Schools to Watch for the third time.
As a School to Watch (STW), Central Valley Middle School had to pass a thorough application and evaluation process based on four criteria: academic excellence, developmental responsiveness, social equity, and organizational structures and processes.
A school can reapply for designation every three years, and since the school was designated in 2015, it has received redesignation twice, in 2018 and now in 2021.
Central Valley is one of six middle schools across the state to be re-designated. According to the STW website, in addition to schools meeting the four criteria, they must also have strong leadership, teachers who work together to improve curriculum and instruction, and a commitment to assessment and accountability to bring about continuous improvement.
