Three new imported COVID-19 cases confirmed in Taiwan

Taipei, April 2 (CNA) Three new imported cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in Taiwan on Friday, bringing the total number of cases in the country to 1,039, according to the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC).
One of the new cases involved a man in his 30s from Switzerland, who entered Taiwan on March 14 from Singapore with a negative test result carried out within three days of his flight, the CECC said in a statement.
He showed no symptoms before completing his 14-day quarantine on March 29 and took a self-paid test arranged by his employer on March 31.

TAIPEI (The China Post) â The Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC, ä¸å¤®æµè¡ç«æ ææ®ä¸å¿) confirmed on Thursday that case 1026 is an employee head at the Hermes Epitek (æ¼¢æ°ç§æ) located in Hsinchu Science Park.
He is in his seventies and had been living in the states. He returned to Taiwan on Jan. 3 and submitted negative test results taken within three days of boarding.
He was asymptomatic during his quarantine period and was tested again on March 29 as he was preparing to return to the U.S.
His infection was confirmed today and 53 possible contacts have been listed. Among them, 12 are under quarantine while 41 are practicing self-health management.

Taipei, April 1 (CNA) Taiwan on Thursday confirmed six new imported cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of cases in the country to 1,036, according to the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC).
One of the new cases involves a Paraguayan man in his 20s who traveled to Taiwan to study on March 5, CECC spokesperson Chuang Jen-hsiang (莊人祥) said at a press briefing.
As the man transited through Brazil, he was tested for COVID-19 twice while he was in quarantine at a government center, with both results coming back negative. A third test he took at a hospital on March 29, however, came back positive, although a fourth test taken the next day was negative.
