Taoyuan, June 6 (CNA) Taoyuan authorities plans to work with local companies that employ foreign workers to prevent COVID-19 infections among them after migrant workers with electronics companies in nearby counties came down with infections, the city's mayor said Sunday.
The government should give emergency use authorization (EUA) for vaccines so that manufacturers would be willing to sell doses directly to civic groups, Chinese Nationalist Party (KMT) Chairman Johnny Chiang (江啟臣) said yesterday.
In many countries, governments have given emergency use authorization for new vaccines so that drug makers would be more willing to sell their vaccines after testing, Chiang wrote on Facebook.
If President Tsai Ing-wen’s (蔡英文) administration would also provide such authorization, foreign companies would be able to sell vaccines to civic groups without providing letters of authorization, he said.

China Television (CTV) received a passing grade for its performance from 2016 to 2019, although it must lower its debt ratio to below 60 percent before its operating license expires in 2025 while not firing employees for adhering to its own broadcasting guidelines, the National Communications Commission (NCC) said yesterday.
It was CTV’s first performance review since the network’s license renewal application was approved in 2016, the commission said.
A terrestrial television license is valid for nine years, and the commission is authorized to evaluate a licenced network’s performance every three years.
