Hyundai Motor Company Australia has recalled
198 examples of 3.5-litre V6-powered variants of the
2021 Hyundai Santa Fe, citing a potential fault with the fuel supply pipe.
The recall notice, lodged with the Department of Infrastructure, says: The fuel supply pipe attached to engines may be defective, which may result in a fuel leak. If a fuel leak occurs, this can result in an engine compartment fire. A vehicle fire could increase the risk of an accident, serious injury or death to vehicle occupants and other road users, the notice continues.
A similar recall was issued in late June 2021 for the Hyundai Santa Fe V6 s twins under the skin, the Kia Carnival people mover and Kia Sorento large SUV.

Hyundai Australia has confirmed it will recall electric Kona and Ioniq cars sold in Australia and replace their battery packs and battery management systems, part of a global recall triggered by fears of a potential fire risk.
The recall will affect most of the 1001 Kona electric cars sold in Australia since their launch two years ago, and many of the 755 fully electric Ioniq cars sold in Australia (but not the hybrid or the plug in hybrid versions). It is part of a global recall of 82,000 electric vehicles.
News of the global recall first emerged over the weekend, and was confirmed by Hyundai Motors to South Korea media on Wednesday.
