A man has been arrested and charged Sunday in connection to a string of subway attacks that left two people dead.
Barrientos was arrested Sunday and taken to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution in Freehold Township pending a detention hearing.
If convicted, he faces up to life imprisonment on the aggravated sexual assault charge and up to 10 years imprisonment on the Endangering the Welfare of a Child charge.
In addition, he would be subject to Parole Supervision for Life and required to register under Megan s Law.
Investigators are seeking additional information about Barrientos activities, including possible victims.

animal cruelty after admitting last year that his neglect caused the deaths of four German Shepard puppies in his care, Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni announced.

The five-year concurrent sentences in a New Jersey state prison included four third degree animal cruelty charges and one charge of third degree receiving stolen property for being in possession of a stolen tractor out of Monroe Township, Middlesex County.

A man who stole four German Shepherd puppies from a farm and buried or burned them on a Howell property was sentenced Friday to five years in state prison, authorities said.
Daniel McDonald, 26, of Freehold, pleaded guilty in November to four counts of third degree animal cruelty and also agreed to never to own, reside with, or take into his care or custody any living animal, according to a statement from the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office.
He was also ordered to perform 30 hours of community service on each of the four animal cruelty counts and to pay $800 in restitution to the owner of the puppies.

Route 9 car crash kills two 20-year-olds from Spotswood, cops say
A Saturday night crash along Route 9 has left two young men dead, the Monmouth County Prosecutor s Office announced on Sunday.
Manalapan Police responded around 9:30 p.m. to a single vehicle crash on Route 9, just south of Smallwood Lane.
A 2004 Infiniti G35 was being driven northbound by Jonathan Ramirez, with Justin Rochford as his only passenger, when Ramirez lost control and left the roadway, police said.
Both men were 20-year-old Spotswood residents.
The car hit a curb, utility pole and a guard rail before it landed in a wooded area about 100 yards away, according to the prosecutor s office.
