Body found in search for missing student from Drew University
After missing for several months, the body of a college student in New Jersey has been recovered.
Ajay Sah, 22, was a foreign exchange student from Nepal who was attending Drew University in Madison.
Last seen on campus at Drew University on January 19, 2021, an investigation confirmed Sah traveled by NJ Transit train to New York Penn Station.
Surveillance footage observed an individual believed to be Sah in New York City on the Brooklyn Bridge at approximately 5 a.m. on January 20, 2021. Sah was seen traveling alone and carrying a backpack.
Authorities say first, Sah s backpack was discovered by a person on a beach in Sea Bright, New Jersey and its contents were turned over to authorities in late April.

The body of a Drew University student who was missing for months has been found, authorities announced Monday.
Ajay Sah, 22, of Madison, was reported missing on Jan. 22, according to a joint statement from the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office and the Madison Police Department.
Sah, a foreign exchange student from Nepal who was attending Drew University in the borough, was last seen on campus on Jan. 19, police said. An investigation confirmed Sah traveled by an NJ Transit train to New York Penn Station. He was seen traveling alone and carrying a backpack.

MORRISTOWN, NJ - The body of missing Madison student Ajay Sah has been found, announced Acting Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll. Sah was a foreign exchange student from Nepal and was attending Drew University. He was reported missing on January 22, 2021.
Sah was last seen on the campus of Drew University on January 19, according to police. Reports indicate that he traveled by NJ transit train to New York Penn Station where he was seen on surveillance footage at the Brooklyn Bridge.
In late April, Sah s backpack was discovered in Sea Bright, said authorities. On April 25, the City of New York Police Department notified the Morris County Prosecutor s Office Missing Persons Unit of an unidentified body that was discovered in Anchorage Channel in Brooklyn. The body was later confirmed to by Sah, they said.
He was then
seen on surveillance footage at the Brooklyn Bridge just hours after his disappearance. In Sea Bright, a citizen found Sah’s backpack, which was turned over to police toward the end of April.
Meanwhile, an unidentified body was found in the Anchorage Channel in Brooklyn on March 9 and determined to be Sah’s after a joint investigation between the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Missing Persons Unit and the New York City Chief Medical Examiner.

GoFundMe dedicated to the search for the missing student had garnered more than $25,000, while a
Facebook page with the same cause had gained more than 1,100 supporters.
