Mayfield, KY. (May 24, 2021) – Troopers with Kentucky State Police, Post 1 arrested a man on outstanding warrants and other charges Monday morning. At approximately 9:05 a.m., a Trooper observed Andrew K. Saxton, 34 of Mayfield, Kentucky walking South on N 17th Street in Mayfield. The Trooper recognized Saxton and had prior knowledge he had outstanding arrest warrants. The Trooper made contact with Saxton and attempted to place him in custody. After an altercation, Saxton was arrested.
During a search of Saxton’s person and a backpack he was carrying, Troopers located a revolver handgun, suspected methamphetamine, and other drug paraphernalia. Saxton was transported to the McCracken County Regional Jail.

Todd Central run ruled University Heights 20-0 in three innings Monday. Mallory Ladd had the only hit for the Lady Blazers, who also committed five errors. Christian County lost for the sixth time in the last seven games falling at McCracken County 9-2. Pickle Winkler went 2-4 with a double and Karlie Crick added a home run in defeat. Gracie Harned took the pitching loss for the Lady Colonels who are now 19-12 on the season. Christian County travels to Graves County Tuesday.
